Aberdeen Wings News Release
Through the kindness in their hearts, three Aberdeen Wings players have donated their Top Prospects jerseys towards an auction to help raise funds for a former Aberdeen Wings player and teammate.
Dillon Eichstadt, Jake Horton, and Jonathan Grebosky were all selected to play in essentially the league's All-Star game played last month in Troy, Michigan. After news broke about a former Aberdeen Wings player being diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer, the three players stepped up and graciously donated their NAHL Top Prospects jerseys to help raise funds.
Zach Kraft, a member of the 2012-2013 team, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a cancer in the brain that is not curable. Zach has fought and dealt with so much, including losing his mother at a very young age to complications with breast cancer. He then lived with family in Grand Forks and Fargo. This season, Kraft joined the Wisconsin Wilderness. After an injury, doctors discovered a brain tumor and the cancer.
Friday night, during 1st intermission, the three Top Prospects jerseys will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Team Kraft Fund to help defray medical expenses and travel costs to treatment. Also, raffle tickets will be sold all throughout Friday to win Kraft's game-worn Wings jersey. The raffle drawing will be held 1st intermission on Saturday. The Wings take on the Brookings Blizzard both Friday and Saturday at the Odde Ice Center.
