Albany, N.Y., June 15, 2004 – The arenafootball2 league office in Chicago announced this afternoon that Albany Conquest offensive specialist Tony Locke has been named Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Week. It is the first weekly league award earned by a Conquest player this season.

Locke (5-11, 190, Ohio State) hauled in six catches for 174 yards with four TD receptions of 29, 9, 28, and 45 yards, all in the first half, leading Albany to a 66-54 win over the Arkansas Twisters at Alltel Arena in N. Little Rock, Ark. on June 12. Locke was also named Baby Ruth Real Deal Offensive Player of the Game for his efforts.

Locke's final touchdown came on the final play of the first half. After an Arkansas penalty as time had expired, Albany had the ball on their own five-yard line. Conquest QB D. Bryant dropped back and found Locke, who had still managed to get loose in the secondary, for a 45-yard strike that gave Albany a 42-27 halftime lead.

Locke has put the entire league on notice with his play this season. He is tied for the league lead in touchdowns (29) and points (174). He is also second in the league in receiving yards (1,030) and second in all-purpose yards (1,891). Locke has totaled 50 receptions this season for 1,030 yards with 25 receiving touchdowns. He has returned three kicks for touchdowns and has one rushing TD.

The Albany Conquest will return home this weekend for a crucial arenafootball2 Northeast Division match-up against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers on Friday (June 18) at the Pepsi Arena in Albany, N.Y. in a game that will feature a full post-game concert by legendary rock band, Blue Oyster Cult.

Fans interested in buying tickets to the June 18 game can do so at the Pepsi Arena Box Office or by calling TicketMaster at (518) 476-1000. More information is available by visiting www.albanyconquest.com.
