Wichita Stealth News Release

Wichita, Kan. - arenafootball2 and the Wichita Stealth announced today that Henry Bryant has been named the ADT Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last week in the 70-35 Stealth victory over the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. Bryant set a franchise record with four sacks in the game, a mark that was previously held by Bryan Henderson who is now with the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League.

Bryant (6-1, 240, Kansas State) is in his rookie season with the Stealth. Henry joined the Stealth on May 20th and has played in four games. In those four games, he has compiled six tackles, and five and a half sacks, which ties him for fifth place in af2.

Bryant came up big for the Stealth in the second quarter on Saturday night. The Yard Dawgz were facing a third and ten at their own seven-yard line when Oklahoma City quarterback Craig Strickland dropped back in his own end zone. Bryant got to Strickland, causing a fumble, which was scooped up by Markevius Woods for a Stealth touchdown pushing their lead to 35-14.

Bryant becomes the seventh Stealth player to ever be named an af2 weekly award winner. Earlier this season, Aaron Sparrow was named the Baby Ruth Real Deal Player of the Week.

"Henry turned in a huge defensive performance," said Stealth head coach Sean Ponder. "He pressured the quarterback all night long and caused a key fumble."
