
Tonight's Game Suspended

State College, PA - Tonight's game between the State College Spikes (17-14) and the Connecticut Tigers (12-20) has been suspended due to rain at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The game will be resumed in the bottom of the fifth inning with the Tigers in front of the Spikes 2-1 tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 p.m. Shortly following the completion of the suspended game the Tigers and Spikes will wrap up their three-game series with a seven inning game.
Before the game was suspended the highlights of the baseball game came from CF Austin Schotts (1-2) who hit a lead off solo homerun to put the Tigers in front 1-0. LF Tyler Gibson (1-2) hit a solo homerun in the third inning to make the score 2-0. Spikes 3B Carson Kelly (1-2) hit an RBI double in the fourth inning that scored 1B David Washington (1-2) to cut the deficit to 2-1.
RHP Jonathon Crawford (0-1, 1.59) gets the start for the Tigers in the series finale. RHP Willy Paulino gets the start for the Spikes. 1310 WICH AM Radio will not be covering the games tomorrow. The Tigers up coming six-game homestand begins Tuesday, July 23 rd with three games with the Staten Island Yankees (NYY Yankees) and three with the Lowell Spinners (Red Sox).
The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers are in their 4th season at Dodd Stadium. Tickets are now on sale!
