[DAYTONA BEACH, FL] Tonight's game between the Daytona Cubs (10-3) and the St. Lucie Mets (10-3) has been postponed due to extensive rain on the east coast of Florida. Today marks the third rainout of the season at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
Tonight's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader that will take place August 24 when the Mets come back to Daytona Beach. The Cubs welcome Vero Beach (5-9) to town tomorrow evening for the first of three games against the Dodgers. Game time tomorrow is slated for 7:05 p.m. with fireworks following the game.
Daytona has won eight of its last nine games and is currently tied for first in the Florida State League East. The Cubs are expected to send Roberto Sotolongo (0-1) to the mound tomorrow against Vero Beach's Mike McGrew (0-0). The Cubs are 5-1 in the two team's last six outings. The previous rainouts took place on June 12 and June 26 at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. The Cubs have also been part of a rainout that took Place in Vero Beach in April.
