Fort Myers Mighty Mussels News Release
SARASOTA, FL (July 7, 2006) - This would have been the first game for Fort Myers Miracle outfielder Brandon Roberts to face his former team, the Sarasota Reds. Roberts, who was traded to the Twins organization on June 19 in exchange for Juan Castro, would have made his first appearance against the team he was with when the trade occurred. Instead Roberts will have to wait until Saturday to face his former team when the Miracle and Reds play a 7:05 p.m. game at Hammond Stadium.
Friday night's rainout will be made up as part of a double header on Sunday beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Ed Smith Stadium. Both games are scheduled for seven innings.
Saturday night at Hammond Stadium the Miracle send LHP Kyle Aselton (4-2, 4.56) to the hill against Reds RHP Sam Lecure (3-8, 4.00). It is Bill Murray bobble head night at the ballpark presented by Bayer TopChoice, WWOR and WJGO. The first 1000 fans through the gates, which open at 6:00 p.m. will receive a bobble head.
