Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Lexington, KY - The Augusta GreenJackets series finale with the Lexington Legends on Saturday night has been cancelled due to poor field conditions caused by an early evening storm. The game will not be made up as Saturday was supposed to be the final meeting between the two teams this season.
The GreenJackets had been retired in order in the top of the first and Gaspar Santiago had faced one hitter in the bottom of the inning before heavy winds preceded heavy rains and forced the stoppage of play.
The GreenJackets continue their now-shortened road trip in Greensboro on Sunday afternoon with Shawn Sanford (9-7, 2.40) taking the ball for Augusta against Robert Morey (7-7, 5.30) of the Grasshoppers. First pitch from Greensboro comes at 4:05 p.m. with radio pregame coverage beginning at 3:50, airing on WRDW-AM 1630 and online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com .
Single-game tickets for any GreenJackets home game are currently available by calling the GreenJackets front office at 706-922-WINS while further information can be found online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com .
