Tommy Kahnle Promoted to Chicago Today

April 6, 2017 - International League (IL) - Charlotte Knights News Release

RHP Tommy Kahnle becomes the first member of the 2017 Charlotte Knights to be promoted to the Chicago White Sox this season. Kahnle, 27, posted a 1-1 record with a 3.00 ERA in 23 games with Charlotte last season. The Latham, NY native also saved seven games for the Knights in 2016. The 6'1" right-handed reliever appeared in 29 games with the White Sox a season ago and went 0-1 record with one save and a 2.63 ERA. He was obtained by the White Sox from the Colorado Rockies on November 24, 2015 in exchange for RHP Yency Almonte. He was originally selected by the New York Yankees in the fifth round of the June 2010 First-Year Player Draft. Kahnle was promoted today to replace RHP Jake Petricka, who was placed on Chicago's disabled list (retroactive to April 5) with a strained right lat.
