October 24, 2020 - United Soccer League One (USL1)
South Georgia Tormenta FC News Release
STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC was just seconds away from ending its 2020 season on a three-match unbeaten streak, but North Texas SC pulled ahead in the 96th minute to take all three points.
Tormenta FC had several chances early on in the match from both Nil Vinyals and Jad Arslan, but North Texas continued to push its attack throughout the first half.
In the third minute of first-half stoppage time, Nil Vinyals was taken down outside of the penalty box and earned a free kick in a dangerous position. He converted from the spot, impressively curling the ball over the keeper and into the net for his fourth goal of the season.
North Texas then responded with a second-half equalizer goal in the 47th minute. Despite notching more shots in the second half, Tormenta was unable to hold off the home side as they scored a second goal late in the match, seconds before the final whistle of 2020.
Fans can now secure their season tickets for 2021. Tormenta FC has introduced affordable 12-month payment plans for fans who are not ready to pay for season tickets in full. The club also has the perfect perks for families - receive one youth season ticket with every General Admission or VIP season ticket you purchase.
