Johnstown Tomahawks News Release

The Johnstown Tomahawks secured a 4-1 win against the Jamestown Rebels Monday afternoon on the road in New York. Johnstown won two of the three games played over the past four days against the Rebels, with the first two games being played in Johnstown.

As they have done in the previous two games in this series, Jamestown opened the scoring with a goal from Mitch Lafay at the 12:54 mark of the 1st period. Lafay's would be the only goal of the first two periods of the game.

With the 3rd period starting with a 1-0 lead for the Rebels, Johnstown's Holt Oliphant scored his third goal in the three games series against Jamestown, putting the Tomahawks on the board with a power play goal just 3:49 into the final period.

The Tomahawks found their swagger then as the 3rd went on, scoring three more goals, including a power play goal from Jake Black and an empty net goal from Frank Jenkins, giving the Tomahawks a 4-1 win over the Rebels.

The Tomahawks have a very quick turnaround as they get set to face off against the Maryland Black Bears for three games this upcoming weekend, with the first being Thursday, February 24 at 7:00 PM at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA in Johnstown. Tickets are available through the Tomahawks office in person or by calling 814-536-4625.
