
Tomahawks Fall to Jr. Blues on Saturday Night

The Johnstown Tomahawks fell to the Springfield Jr. Blues 2-1 on Saturday night, thanks to a pair of goals by Oliver Takacsi-Nagy. The Tomahawks have lost seven straight games, and currently sit in fourth place in the North division.
For the second straight night, the Jr. Blues got on the board first, as Takacsi-Nagy scored an unassisted goal over the glove of Alex Okicki 1:23 into the first period. Jordan Watt tied the game later in the period, firing a shorthanded goal past Tyger Howat at 4:07. Matthew Meier and Okicki were credited with assists on the goal, with Okicki earning his first point of the season.
Springfield took a 2-1 lead in the second period, as Takacsi-Nagy scored his second of the game at 7:03. Alex Baskakov and Brycon Johnson earned assists on the goal.
Steffanos Lekkas earned the win, stopping 32 of 32 shots in relief of Howat, who was removed after the Watt goal. Okicki took the loss, stopping 30 of 32 shots. Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play in the game.
