Eagles Make Final Regular-Season Visit for Weekend Series

PORT HURON, MI - ÃÂ The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, host the Soo Eagles for the final time of the 2013-14 regular season Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. at McMorran Arena. The Fighting Falcons head into the weekend series riding a five-game home winning streak following a 2-1 over the second-place Michigan Warriors on Wednesday.

Port Huron (31-14-8, 70 points) is just two points shy of clinching home ice advantage for the first round of the 2014 Roberston Cup Playoffs. The Soo (23-23-7, 53 points) currently sit in fifth place in the North Division, two points behind the Janesville Jets for fourth place.

The Fighting Falcons are 6-2-2 against the Eagles in ten hard-fought games so far this season, with five games ending up tied at the end of regulation. Port Huron and the Soo have split four of the five series they've played against each other this season.

The Eagles have not visited McMorran Arena since late December, and each team won two of four games played up North since then.

Zach Badalamenti has six goals and three assists for nine points against the Eagles, who are led by Scott Cuthrell's two goals and six assists.

Alex Blankenburg has gone 4-0-0 against the Soo this season, including his lone shutout of the year on November 8. Four different Eagles goaltenders have earned one victory apiece against the Fighting Falcons.

Fans at Saturday's game will have a chance at a jackpot, as the Fighting Falcons will hold a drawing for $1 per person in attendance. Family four-packs are available Sunday, and feature four tickets, four hot dogs and four fountain drinks for just $34.
