Tolliver leads Austin over Sioux Falls

AUSTIN, TX (December 9, 2008) - NBA assignee Anthony Tolliver led the Toros to a 117-91 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce with 27 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday afternoon at the Austin Convention Center. Frank Williams led the Skyforce in the loss with 20 points and 3 rebounds.
"We had great ball movement today," Toros assistant coach Wendell Alexis said. "Today's game was a great example of defensive effort, teamwork and knocking down open shots."
The Toros pulled away in a tightly contested game by outscoring the Skyforce, 63-42 in the second half. The Toros were helped by a 60-36 advantage on points in the paint and a 25-6 advantage on fast break points.
The first half featured five lead changes and six ties, concluding with the Toros holding a 54-49 lead at the half.
Marcus Williams and NBA assignee Blake Ahearn contributed to the Toros strong effort with 20 and 17 points respectively.
Andre Brown and Anthony Tolliver of the Toros led all players with 11 rebounds.
Skyforce scoring in double figures included Frank Williams (20) , Gary Forbes (18), Keith Brumbaugh (12) and Chris Alexander (10).
