
Titans split weekend with Royals

TRENTON, NJ â The Trenton Titans were able to gain a split in the first two games of the North Division Final against the Reading Royals and take back home-ice advantage in the best-of-five series.
The Titans fell in the opening game of the series, 4-2, at the Sovereign Center on Friday night. A gritty effort the following night, however, produced a 2-1 victory for Trenton and tied the series 1-1.
Trenton returns to Sovereign Bank Arena for Game 3 on Wednesday, April 27 at 7:00pm and Game 4 on Friday, April 29 at 7:30pm. If necessary, the Titans will travel back to Reading for Game 5 on Saturday, April 30 at 7:05pm

- The Royals used two goals from Preston Mizzi to get a 4-2 win in the
series opener against the Trenton Titans. Mizzi got the scoring started
with a shorthanded goal at 9:17 of the first while Beau Geisler added an
even strength tally 2:55 later to make the score 2-0 Reading. Rick Kowalsky
lit the lamp thirty-six seconds into the second period to pull the Titans
with one, but the Royals would answer with goals by Rob Hisey and Mizzi.

- Rick Kowalsky's power play goal at 18:52 of the second period proved to be
the deciding goal in a 2-1 victory for the Titans. B.J. Abel notched his
first postseason goal just 1:31 into the contest to help Trenton stake a 1-0
lead. Beau Geisler tied the score on the man-advantage just five minutes
before Kowalsky's tally. Andrew Allen stopped 30 of 31 for his fourth
post-season win.
