
Titans outlast Bravehearts in 13 innings

Torrington, Connecticut - Despite being outhit 13-4 by the Torrington Titans, the Worcester Bravehearts hung in with the leaders of the FCBL West Division but lost 2-1 in 13 innings Friday night, June 12 at Fuessenich Park in Torrington, Connecticut.
With the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the 13th, Torrington center fielder Joe Paparelli (Bryant / Preston, Connecticut) hit an RBI single to score outfielder and pinch runner Isaiah Rivera (Pace University / Newington, Connecticut) for the game-winning run.
Worcester's Adam De La Cruz (Cochise / Bronx, New York) took the loss after giving up the winning run in only his second pitching appearance of the season. The loss also marked the sixth straight for the Bravehearts.
Torrington took the lead in the third inning, but the Bravehearts countered in the fifth when center fielder Brandon Gauthier (Dean / Meriden, Connecticut) singled, stole second base and scored on an RBI single by right fielder Bobby Indeglia (Holy Cross / North Kingston, Rhode Island).
Left fielder Nick Lamberti (UConn / East Haven, Connecticut) and second baseman Dean Lockery (Central Connecticut State / New Haven, Connecticut) each had three hits for the Titans.
The 2-6 Bravehearts will try to snap their losing streak when they face the Seacoast Mavericks at 6:35 p.m. June 13 on Leary Field in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
