Worcester Bravehearts News Release
WORCESTER - Despite scoring a season-high seven runs, the Worcester Bravehearts ended up on the wrong end of a 9-7 defeat to the Bristol Blues on Thursday, June 11 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
The loss marked Worcester's fifth in a row this season. Trailing 9-6 in the ninth inning, Worcester loaded the based with no outs. But Blues pitcher Robert Paccione (LIU Post / Commack, New York) came in and only let one run cross before closing the door to earn his first save of the season.
The Blues offense scored one run each inning until the sixth and seventh when Bristol scored a pair of runs in each frame. Blues center fielder Davis Strong (St. Mary's / Walnut Creek, California) led the visiting Blues going 3-5 with a triple and three runs scored.
Worcester held a 4-3 lead after three innings thanks in part to a 2-run home run from infielder Zach Tower (UMass Lowell / Auburn) and an RBI double by right fielder Logan Brown (Slippery Rock / Leechburg, Pennsylvania). Playing his first game in Worcester since the 2014 season, second baseman Dylan Harris (St. Leo / St. Petersburg, Florida) also chipped in two hits and two runs scored.
Bristol pitcher Dominic LoBrutto (Florida International / Winter Springs, Florida) got his first win in his first appearance, as he gave up only two hits and one earned run in three innings of relief. Bravehearts pitcher Logan Fullmer (Maine /Lebanon, Pennsylvania) wound up on the losing end of the decision, as he gave up Worcester's early lead in two innings of relief.
The Bravehearts hit the road for three consecutive away contests beginning Friday, June 12 against the Torrington Titans at 7:00 p.m. at Fuessenich Park in Torrington, Connecticut.
