Expansion Not Too Painful
New ECHL teams holding their own
When new teams enter a league in any sport there are usually some growing pains, but for the most part the ECHL's newcomers are doing OK.
Fort Wayne (7-3-0-1) has vaulted to second in the North Division, while rival and fellow former-CHL member has rebounded after a 0-6-0-1 start, though still last in the North at 3-6-0-1.
Things are sunny so far in Orlando, as the Solar Bears have played an exciting brand of hockey to sit third in the brutal South Division at 6-4-2-1.
San Francisco has found expansion life in the West a bit rocky, but at 3-8-0-2 actually sits ahead of last year's Kelly Cup Finalist Las Vegas in the Pacific Division.
Southern (Lamp) Lights
Red lights are burning out in the South - the league's highest scoring division. All five teams have scored over 40 goals. Greenville and Florida have 47 each and Gwinnett 46, Expansion Orlando is fourth in the East at 46. South Carolina is tied for 6th with Kalamazoo (40).
