Evansville IceMen News Release

RUNDOWN/LOWDOWN: The Evansville IceMen, proud ECHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons and Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, continue to display gradual progress and improvement in recent game competition. Under the tutelage of third year GM/Head Coach Rich Kromm, the IceMen have attained the .500 plateau through their initial half-dozen dates in this November month. At 6(3-3-0) for 6-points, the Evansville men of the ice have advanced and enhanced their season record from what it looked like at the conclusion of the preceding month of October. For the campaign, the Evansville composite record checks-in at 13(3-9-1) totaling 7-points. Residing in fifth place in the ECHL's Eastern Conference North Division, the IceMen embark on another ambitious week's docket consisting of 3-games in 4-nights with the first two abroad and the latter at home. Evansville's hometown team's travelogue is comprised of an excursion to Cincinnati for its first-ever collision with the first place Cyclones 10(7-1-2)16 on Thursday night, followed by a Saturday night sojourn to Fort Wayne 11(7-3-1)15 for another renewal of rancor in Indiana's holy hockey wars between the IceMen and the perennial powerhouse Komets. The IceMen icers climax the work week with their lone home appearance of the week and their final Ford Center sighting for November when the rampaging Reading Royals 12(6-5-1)13 invade the premises Sunday at 5:00 pm on "TRCI IceMen Youth Jersey Day."

TRCI ICEMEN YOUTH JERSEY DAY: For their lone home game of the week and their last home game for the month, the IceMen and TRCI are presenting one of the premiere giveaway days of the season. It will be "TRCI/IceMen Youth Jersey Day" this Sunday when the IceMen collide with the Reading Royals in a 5:00 pm face-off at the Ford Center. The first 1,000 youngsters 12-years and under will receive a nifty IceMen Youth Jersey compliments of TRCI. It is the IceMen's last home game until Saturday, December 1st when they host division rival Kalamazoo on "Star Wars Night" and "Pack the House Night."

"ICEMEN LIVE PRESENTED BY COORS LIGHT": The IceMen ever-popular weekly Monday night radio show is on the air everywhere for a third consecutive year right in your listening ear. This week, show host, Terry Ficorelli's special guests will be left wing Patrick Kennedy and center/right wing Nathan Moon. It's "IceMen Live Presented by Coors Light," Monday nights from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm live from Show-Me's East and on the IceMen flagship of the new "Magic 98.5 FM," and 1400 AM WEOA as well as world-wide on magic985fm.com and 1400am weoa.com.

WRAP THE RECAP: Tackling an ambitious agenda consisting of 4-games in 5-nights the past week, the IceMen responded with a mark of 4(1-3-0). In their Second Annual Education Day game on Tuesday, before a thunderous sellout throng of 9,381, the IceMen bowed to Greenville, 4-2. The following night, the Road Warriors completed the 2-game sweep by rallying with 4-unanswered third period strikes to eradicate an IceMen 3-1 advantage in ultimately prevailing, 5-3. In the unfounded crusade, rookie Trent Vogelhuber did deliver his first 2-goals of his pro career. Following a 5-2 setback endured Friday night in Fort Wayne, the IceMen bounced back with a sound and solid Saturday night act and before a leather lunged legion of 6,830, they outdueled South Carolina, 2-1. Josh Beaulieu furnished the firepower with a pair of snipes and Rob Madore was scintillating in goal with 28-saves.

UPWARD AND ONWARD: With their Saturday night home ice victory verdict over South Carolina, the IceMen have attained the .500 mark through their most recent half-dozen dates at 6(3-3-0)6. All 6-performances have been staged in November. For the season overall, the record is 13(3-9-1) for 7-points. The longest win streak has been 2-consecutively; longest losing streaks have been 5-in succession and 3-in a row. Longest winless spell has been the initial 7-games of the current campaign; 7(0-6-1).

HOME BOUND BETTER: After broaching the season with a rather uncharacteristic 5-game losing streak, the IceMen have also attained some much needed higher ground by reaching the .500 level in their last 4-Ford Center shows at 4(2-2-0). For the season, the home record stands at 9(2-7-0)4. The "Kromminator" contingent has played 9 of its first 13-games at home. Evansville has only one more home appearance on the slate for the remainder of this month.

For the season, the "Men of the Igloo" have garnered and gathered 3-points in a quartet of foreign ice expeditions through a log of 4(1-2-1). MISSION BY DIVISION: The three IceMen triumphs have been achieved accordingly: North Division: 6(1-4-1) with the win in Toledo, 4-1. Atlantic Division: 2(1-1-0) with the victory at home against Wheeling, 4-3. The South Division: 5(1-4-0) with the win on home ice against South Carolina, 2-1.

JOSH JUGGERNAUT: Sixth year left wing Josh Beaulieu is off to another strong and stellar start for the hometown team. The past week, he authored 3-goals in 4-games including both of his team's strikes stoked Saturday night in the IceMen spine-tingling, thrilling theater 2-1 triumph over visiting South Carolina. It was Beaulieu's first 2-goal performance of the season as he topped his team in that category last year with five 2-goal masterpieces. His 6-goals are foremost on the club for Evansville's second leading scorer 13(6-3-9). In his last 7-games; 7(5-3-8). Beaulieu is the IceMen nomination for ECHL Player of the Week.

ROB ROBBING THEM: Second-year goaltender Rob Madore enjoyed another banner week as the IceMen guardian of the goal. In two starts, he posted a 2(1-1-0) record, repelling 64 of 68-SOG for a healthy .941 SPCT. In his team's 2-1 decision over South Carolina Saturday night, he was heralded the game's #1 Star, brushing aside 28 of 29-SOG including all 14 in the final frame when the Stingrays were relentlessly pressuring for the equalizer. For the week, the Pittsburgh, PA product sported a GAA of a frugal 2.02. Madore is the IceMen nomination for ECHL Goaltender of the Week.

THE TRENT EVENT: First year right wing Trent Vogelhuber fashioned his first 2-goals as a pro Wednesday night in the IceMen 5-3 setback inflicted by foreign ice invading Greenville. For the week, in total, the former Miami of Ohio U. standout assembled a 3-game points scoring streak of 3(2-2-4). His 2-goal effort represented the IceMen first such individual output for the campaign as he was hailed as the game's #2 Star.

MATT WITH SOME "SCAT": Veteran All-Star defenseman Matt Gens remains as consistent as it comes through Evansville's first 13-games of the season. Once again, emerging as his team's top scoring blue line ace of the place, the former St. Cloud State star is presently operating on his latest 3-game point streak with 3(0-4-4) in that span.
