Titans Fall to Nordiques 3-0 in Hard Fought Game

The Titans fell to the visiting Maine Nordiques last night 3 - 0 in a hard-fought game. It was the only time this season that the Titans have been shutout, and the first time in 113 games dating back to January 19, 2019 that the Titans were held scoreless. Despite the loss, the Titans were able to gain three out of a possible six points during this three-game series with the Nordiques.

The Nordiques scored the eventual game winner with 6:53 remaining in the second period on Makem Demers seventh goal of the season. Nick Seitz picked up the loose puck behind his own net and went to pass the puck to Zach Nazzarett but it was intercepted by Maine's Matt Connor at the far side blueline. Connor took a shot that was blocked out front and the rebound came right out to Demers and he turned and took a slapshot that beat Louden Hogg short side to make it a 1 - 0 game.

The Nordiques Stefan Owens doubled the visitors lead at 3:17 into the third period. After Stephen Willey won the draw deep inside the Maine end, the puck went back to the point, but Tyler Nasca was off the line and the puck went into the neutral zone where Nasca picked it up along the near side boards and he sent the biscuit over to David Posma on his left inside. As Posma went to send a return pass to Nasca, it was intercepted by Cannon Green and Green circled down low and made a centering pass out front to Owens who one-timed it past Hogg for his first goal of the game.

With 7:55 Owens scored his second goal of the game to make it 3 - 0. After icing was waived off in the Nordiques zone, Maine's Cooper Swift picked up the loose puck behind his own net and passed it up to Green along the near side boards. Green sent a high bounce pass off the glass into center ice where it picked up by Owens. As Owens gained the line, he took a wrist shot that beat Hogg long side to close out the scoring.

Hogg stopped 35 of 38 shots while Maine's Tyriq Outen turned aside all 33 he faced for his second shutout of the season. Click here for the box score.

The Titans will travel to Johnstown this upcoming weekend for a two-game series against the East Division leading Tomahawks.
