'Tips Rally In Overtime To Win Ninth Straight, 4-3

Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips rallied to score in overtime against the Seattle Thunderbirds to win their ninth straight, 4-3. Shane Harper earned first star of the night honors after scoring his team leading 27thand 28 th goals of the season. Josh Winquist and Markus McCrea rounded off the scoring for Everett Sunday night. Radko Gudas collected two assists while Thomas Heemskerk stopped 29 shots to collect his 16th win of the year. Heemskerk now has wins in six straight starts.

Harper started the scoring Sunday night by putting up his team leading 27thgoal of the season at 12:50 on the power play. Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard poke checked the puck from Langkow by the crease. The puck ended up in the slot for Harper where the Everett forward beat Pickard glove side to give Everett a 1-0 lead. The Silvertips outshot the Thunderbirds 8-4 after 20 minutes of play.

Seattle tied the game at 2:13 of the second period after Colin Jacobs tipped home his seventh of the season. Mitch Elliot's shot from the point was deflected by Jacobs in front of the net and past Heemskerk five-hole to tie the score 1-1. Everett responded just 90 seconds later with Winquist's third goal of the season. Winquist deflected a Ryan Murray shot from the point past Pickard high blocker side at 3:43. The Silvertips took a two goal lead at 7:19. McCrea collected a loose rebound in the crease, after a D. Jay McGrath shot, to score his fourth of the year. Brenden Silvester brought Seattle within one goal after scoring his third of the year at 12:26. Silvester scored on a hard wrist shot from the top of the right circle moving the score to 3-2 'Tips.

Luke Lockhart tied the game for Seattle at 6:23 of the third period on the power play. Lockhart collected his own rebound after tipping a shot in front to tie the score 3-3. The score was tied after regulation to send both teams into overtime.

Harper scored the game winner at 2:25 of the overtime period to collect a 4-3 win over Seattle. Dailey won the faceoff right outside the Seattle zone to Harper where the Everett forward put together a highlight reel goal before going top shelf past Pickard.

This brings the 'Tips record to 28-16-2-1 with 59 points in 47 games played. The Silvertips take on the Vancouver Giants this Wednesday at 7:05 at Comcast Arena before heading to Portland this Friday to face-off against the Winterhawks at 7:30.
