
Tintor Blasts Snappers into Western Division Finals

Eli Tintor's two-run blast in the top of the eighth inning gave the Snappers the lead for good in the third and final game of the three game series with Peoria. Beloit hung on to win the game 4-3 behind a strong pitching performance from starter Alexander Smit. Smit struck out ten batters in seven innings. He allowed two runs, one of which was earned. Dan Leatherman worked a scoreless ninth, nailing down the win for Beloit and picking up his first save of the playoffs.
The Chiefs took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. The Snappers scored twice in the top of the fifth inning, taking a 2-1 lead. Peoria responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning, tying the game 2-2. Tintor then cranked a two-run home run in the top of the eighth, giving Beloit a 4-2 lead. Adam Hawes came on to replace Smit in the bottom of the eighth. Hawes allowed one run and left with two out and two runners on base in the eighth inning. Ryan Mullins came on to get the final out of the eighth before the Snappers turned the ball over to Dan Leatherman.
Upcoming schedule: With the win the Snappers advance to the Western Division Finals against the Kane County Cougars. The series starts at Pohlman Field, Saturday, September 9 at 6:30 pm.
