LAST GAME: The TinCaps had their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday night, losing 11-5. RF Agustin Ruiz hit his 7th HR of the season, which leads the team and puts him in a tie for 4th in the league. C Jonny Homza had a multi-hit night, extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

NICE TO SEE YOU: Parkview Field welcomed in 4,167 fans for last night's game. It was the first time that Parkview Field's attendance has exceeded 4,000 this year, and it was a limited-capacity sellout crowd.

TIE THE BOW: Today's game marks the final meeting of the season between Fort Wayne and Cedar Rapids. However, the homestand is not over. The TinCaps host the Lake County Captains for six games starting on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m.

HAMMERIN' HOMZA: TinCaps catcher/infielder Jonny Homza is now riding an 11-game hitting streak, which is the longest of any TinCap this season. He sits in the top-12 in the league in both runs scored (18) and walks (16). Homza's also 2nd in High-A Central in line drive rate (29% of his batted balls are line drives), and top-10 in pull rate (52% of his batted balls have been to the left side). Defensively, Jonny has now logged appearances at five different positions (C, 3B, 1B, RF, and SS). Today he leads off and DHs.

RUIZ'S RUN: Agustin Ruiz is in a 3-way tie for 2nd in High-A Central with 22 RBIs. He's also tied for 4th in home runs with 7. In 2019, as a 19-year-old, Ruiz recorded 4 home runs and 55 RBIs in 120 games.

TOURNAMENT TIME: Today marks the third day of the 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. 4 TinCaps competed in the NCAA Tournament during their collegiate career: RHP Matt Waldron with Nebraska (2016, 2017, 2019), LHP Mason Feole with UConn (2018, 2019), OF Dwanya Williams-Sutton with East Carolina (2016, 2018), and OF Grant Little with Texas Tech (2017, 2018). Williams-Sutton's ECU team in 2016 advanced to a super regional, and Little's Red Raiders made it all the way to Omaha for the College World Series in 2018.

HARDWARE: Thursday night's starter, LHP Ethan Elliott, shined in his first start in June. The 24-year-old struck out 9 Kernels in 6.0 IP. On Wednesday, Elliott was tabbed High-A Central's Pitcher of the Month for May, after leading the league in Ks (38), AVG against (.131), and was 2nd in ERA (1.46).

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE: TinCaps OF Jawuan Harris has been as selective as he's ever been in his career. He's top-10 in High-A Central in BB% (17%), top-20 in Swinging Strike % (9%), and is 3rd in the league in Line Drive % (29%).
