Fort Wayne TinCaps News Release
Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne TinCaps are excited to officially release the team's 2009 home schedule. The TinCaps 70 home games stretch from Opening Day on April 16th through the final regular season game on Friday, September 4th.
The TinCaps will play host to 18 team-sponsored post-game fireworks displays - the first being Opening Night at Parkview Field. The team also plays at home the night of the Three Rivers Festival's fireworks spectacular on Sunday, July 19th.
While there are variations to the start times on particular days of the week, the majority of times stay consistent throughout the season.
Sunday games will begin at 3:05pm. Weekday games will begin at 7:05pm. Saturday games will begin at 4:05pm until after the Memorial Day Weekend, when the start times will be 7:05pm.
The only variation to the weekday start times of 7:05pm will be the TinCaps four Wednesday day games (April 22nd, May 6th, May 27th and July 29th) which will begin at 11:05am. These four day games will accommodate the TinCaps Reading Program and the popular Day Camp & Day Care event that takes place each year. The team has welcomed over 6,000 students to each of the Reading Program dates over the past several years.
Sunday, July 19th marks the final day of the Three Rivers Festival in downtown Fort Wayne. The TinCaps game time will be 5:05pm to allow attendees a chance to come downtown before or stay after the game to enjoy Three Rivers Festival events and take in the fireworks finale.
More information on specific promotional, entertainment and giveaway dates will be announced as they are determined. The date on which individual tickets will go on sale has not yet been determined. Check the team website for more information on when individual game tickets will become available.
