Timbers2 was named the MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Matchday 8. Portland earned its second win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 at Providence Park on Sunday, May 16.

After conceding first in the match, T2 scored three unanswered goals to secure three points at home. Michael Vang, Victor Griffith and Florián Monzón each scored their first career goals for Portland. Griffith has started in all six appearances this season, while Vang has started in all five of his appearances. Monzón earned his second appearance (first start) since joining the club on April 13 this season.

Next up, T2 will travel to face Galaxy II on Sunday, May 21 at Dignity Health Sports Park. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. (Pacific) with a stream available on www.mlsnextpro.com.
