PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers play host to the San Jose Earthquakes at Providence Park on Decision Day, presented by AT&T. Beginning at 1 p.m. (Pacific), the club's regular-season finale Sunday will feature a national television broadcast on ESPN, with local radio broadcasts on 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).

Playoff picture

Currently sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference standings, the Timbers (13-13-7, 46pts) will advance to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for a third straight season with a win or draw against San Jose (8th, 44pts) or a FC Dallas (7th, 45pts) loss or draw against Sporting Kansas City (click here for a full breakdown of the playoff scenarios). As part of Decision Day, all 12 games will kick off simultaneously at 1 p.m. (Pacific) on Sunday.

Against San Jose

Sunday's match marks the 23rd meeting all-time between Portland and San Jose. The Timbers lead the all-time series with a record of 10-5-7. Portland is unbeaten in 11 matches (8-0-3) at Providence Park against the Earthquakes, including six straight wins during that span. Notably, at home in the all-time series, the Timbers have outscored San Jose 20-8, scoring two or more goals in three of their last four matches against the Earthquakes at Providence Park, dating back to April 16, 2016.

Regular-season finales

The Timbers are 4-2-2 in regular-season finales, dating back to 2011. Portland has won four consecutive home regular-season finales. In those four games, the Timbers have outscored their opponents by a 10-2 margin. In 2018, Portland clinched a postseason berth with a 3-0 win over Real Salt Lake in its home regular-season finale on Oct. 21, receiving goals from Sebastián Blanco, Diego Chara and Larrys Mabiala.

Timbers, Dutch Bros Coffee release custom training kit for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In collaboration with the Timbers exclusive training kit partner, Dutch Bros Coffee, the team will be wearing a custom training kit in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Oct. 6. The custom training kit will be available for purchase at the stadium store as well as online at shop.dutchbros.com to help raise funds to support breast cancer research.

T2 continue homestand with match against Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday

With four matches remaining on their regular-season schedule, T2 continues its homestand, playing host to Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Providence Park. Beginning at 7 p.m. (Pacific), the match against Phoenix will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Portland (10-12-8, 38pts, +1GD) sits in 12th place in the Western Conference standings. T2 have a game in hand and trail San Antonio FC (10th, 41pts, +6GD) by three points for the final spot in the USL Championship playoffs. In their regular-season home finale on Friday, Oct. 11, T2 play host to San Antonio FC, before finishing the season with consecutive road matches against El Paso Locomotive (Oct. 15) and Rio Grande Valley FC (Oct. 18).

Timbers Academy update: U-18/19, U-16/17 teams earn wins over Real Colorado and Colorado Rapids Academy

The Timbers Academy teams played host to Real Colorado and the Colorado Rapids Academy as part of the DA Cup on Sept. 28 and Sept. 29. The U-16/17 and U-18/19 teams picked up wins in both of their matches, while the U-15s earned a draw against Real Colorado.

The U-18/19s improved to 3-0-1 in the DA Cup after earning a 2-1 win over Real Colorado and a 2-0 victory against the Rapids. Masango Akale tallied his fourth goal of the season in the win against Real Colorado. Against the Rapids, Dyson Clapier scored his second goal of the season, converting from the penalty spot.

Four different players scored goals for the U-16/17 team in their two wins, with the Timbers registering a 3-1 win over Real Colorado and a 3-2 result against the Rapids. Gerardo Duran tallied goals in both games for Portland.

In the U-15s 1-1 draw against Real Colorado, Anthony Sena registered his first goal of the 2019-20 campaign for the Timbers.

On Oct. 6, all three teams will once again be in action with matches against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy, opening up the regular-season portion of their schedule.

Television: "Timbers in 30"

Throughout the season, "Timbers in 30," hosted by Jake Zivin and Ross Smith, will offer inside access to the club and provide analysis with in-studio appearances from Timbers coaches and players. This week, "Timbers in 30" airs on Friday at 6:30 p.m. (Pacific) on FOX 12 Oregon. Previously aired shows and "Timbers in 30" features can be found at www.timbers.com.

Radio: "Talk Timbers"

The Timbers' weekly radio talk show, "Talk Timbers," airs every Wednesday evening beginning at 6 p.m. (Pacific) on flagship station 750 The Game. "Talk Timbers" provides team and league news as well as interviews with Timbers coaches and players during the season, and also features regular updates on T2 and Portland Thorns FC. Timbers assistant coach Carlos Llamosa and defender Zarek Valentin joined this week's show.
