Timbers Playoff Ticket Packages Go On Sale Wednesday

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced that 2009 playoff ticket packages will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Timbers clinched a postseason berth with a 3-1 win over the Miami FC Blues over the weekend at PGE Park.

Starting at $36, Timbers 2009 playoff ticket packages include tickets for the three possible playoff matches - first, semifinal and championship rounds - at PGE Park, presented by Spirit Mountain Casino. Playoff packages can be purchased through the PGE Park box office or by contacting the Timbers ticket office at (503) 553-5555.

Season-ticket holders have until Friday, Sept. 11, to secure their seats for playoff matches through their online account at www.portlandtimbers.com or by calling a ticket representative at (503) 553-5555.

Tickets from potential un-played games will either be credited towards 2010 Timbers season-ticket packages or refunded. Individual playoff tickets will go on sale at a later date.

The USL First Division playoffs begin Sept. 25, with the first two rounds consisting of a two-game, aggregate-goal series. New this season, the championship round will also consist of a two-game series, starting Oct. 10. Official playoff dates and opponents will be announced by United Soccer Leagues.

Currently in first place, Timbers will advance to the postseason for the sixth time since 2001. In their last playoff run in 2007, the Timbers reached the USL First Division semifinal against the Atlanta Silverbacks.

KEITA NAMED TO USL FIRST DIVISION TEAM OF THE WEEK

United Soccer Leagues announced today that Timbers forward Mandjou Keita was selected to the USL First Division Team of the Week for Week 20. Keita's two goals and one assist led the Timbers to a 3-1 win over the Miami FC Blues on Aug. 22, at PGE Park. It is his fifth Team of the Week nod during the 2009 campaign.

The Timbers head east to face the Charleston Battery on Friday at 5 p.m. (Pacific). The top-of-the-table matchup will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel as part of the USL First Division Game of the Week series. A live broadcast will also be available online at www.portlandtimbers.com.
