
Timbers Announce 2012 Open Tryout Details

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced that the club will conduct an open tryout for the Major League Soccer side Jan. 14-15, 2012, at JELD-WEN Field.
The tryout is open to players 18 years of age and older. Interested players with previous college or professional experience are invited to register for the tryout online at www.portlandtimbers.com/tryouts. Players without college experience must submit a playing resume to assistant coach Amos Magee at coachingstaff@portlandtimbers.com. The registration fee for the tryout is $150; space is limited.
"These tryouts provide players who are serious about playing at the highest level in North America the opportunity to be seen and pursue a lifelong dream," said Timbers head coach John Spencer.
Tryout activities will take place from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15. Players will be assessed by members of the Timbers technical and coaching staffs.
