
Tim Frazier Named NBA Development League Performer of the Week

PORTLAND - December 8, 2014 - After a dynamic performance to cap off a thrilling weekend at the Expo, the NBA Development League announced today that Maine Red Claws point guard Tim Frazier has been named league Performer of the Week for the week ending on Dec. 7. Frazier becomes just the sixth Red Claws player ever to receive this honor, and the first since Chris Wright in the 2012-13 season.
Frazier recorded the fifth triple-double in Red Claws history Saturday night, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists in Maine's 122-114 win over Sioux Falls. He helped the Red Claws score 78 points in the first half, a team record.
In Thursday's win over Fort Wayne, Frazier finished with 11 points, 9 boards (including 5 offensive rebounds) and 4 assists. Frazier helped a late surge with a clutch basket and rebound late in the game. On the week, Frazier averaged 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists over two games.
On the season, Frazier is averaging 15.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists, shooting 48.8% from the floor. Frazier, a 6-1, 175 pound point guard out of Penn State, participated in the Boston Celtics training camp this pre-season, and is assigned to Maine as a Celtics affiliate player.
Other top performers considered include Austin's Bryce Cotton, Bakersfield's Renaldo Major, Fort Wayne's Andre Emmett, Iowa's Diante Garrett, Los Angeles' Roscoe Smith, Rio Grande Valley's Gary Talton, Sioux Falls' Khem Birch and Texas' Renaldo Balkman.
The Red Claws, presented by Unum, hit the road for two games at Delaware this Wednesday and Friday. Maine returns to the Portland Expo this Sunday, Dec. 14th when it faces Canton. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
