Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers announced today that they have signed their 1st round pick (8th overall) from the 2021 WHL Prospect Draft, Tomas Mrsic, to a standard WHL Player Agreement.
Mrsic, a product of Surrey, BC has been noticed as one of the top forward prospects in the 2006 age group. Mrsic is currently playing for the Delta Hockey Academy Prep team where he has put up an astonishing 58 (27G, 31A) points in only 16 games in the highly competitive CSSHL.
"We're really excited to bring Tomas into the fold here. He's a really good young player with leadership ability and lots of skill. We're excited to see him in the line-up and to help him achieve his goals." says Tigers Head Coach and General Manager Willie Desjardins.
The Tigers expect to see Mrsic dress for this weekends games.
The Tigers next action comes on Friday when the team travels west down highway 3 to take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes in a home and home set. Those are the final two games for the Tigers before the team breaks for the Holidays. Tickets for Saturday's game can be picked up at the Co-op Place Box Office or online at tixx.ca
