Tigers Mourn Loss of Balzar Lanz
April 4, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
The Medicine Hat Tigers Organization is saddened to hear the passing of Balzar Lanz. Balzar took pride in serving as a goal judge for the Medicine Hat Tigers since the team's inception during the 1970-71 season, as well as his community work with the Cypress View Foundation. Balzar along with his three brothers, Frank, John, and Tony were recognized by the WHL for the Distinguished Service Award during the 2012-13 season after 43 seasons serving as off-ice officials. Balzar will be missed at the hockey rink and in the community of Medicine Hat. We would like to pass our deepest condolences on to Balzar's wife, Irene and the rest of the Lanz families.
