Tigers Hire Matt Wong as Goalie Coach

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers announced today that they have hired Matt Wong as their goalie coach for the 2019-20 season.

"We are really excited to have Matt join our team. I have had the pleasure to work with Matt in the past with the Academy and I love his passion and dedication. Matt will be a big part of our team moving forward," said Willie Desjardins, General Manager & Head Coach.

Wong joins the Tigers after spending five seasons with the Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). The Calgary, AB native also spent time as the goalie coach for the Drumheller Dragons of the AJHL and one season as the head coach of the SEAC Tigers Minor Midget AAA.

"I am excited and proud to be a part of this great franchise. Thank you to the Maser Family and Willie Desjardins for putting their trust and belief in me. I look forward to further developing the current and future Tigers goalies, as well as working closely with Willie, Joe, and Ryan to bring another Championship back to Medicine Hat," said Wong.
