First baseman Kelly Hunt has been named the Florida State League player of the week for May 23-29, 2005.
Hunt went 10 for 29 for the week with three homeruns, three doubles and 10 RBI. Hunt also scored 6 scored runs. Hunt hit .345/.379/.724 (BA/OBP/SLG%) during the week including hitting two homers in the same inning on May 29th against Jupiter.
Hunt (6'5, 240) was drafted by the Tigers in the 29th round of the June 2003 draft out of Bowling Green and is in his third season of professional baseball. Hunt spent last season with West Michigan of the Midwest League. His hometown is Bowling Green, OH.
