
Tiger-Cats Sign Two, Trim Roster

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Sunday, the football club has signed American linebacker Carlton Martial and national offensive lineman Mojtaba Mehry.
Martial, 24, most recently played 59 games over five seasons at Troy University (2018-22), registering 577 total tackles, 50.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 quarterback sacks, eight forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, six interceptions and 15 passes defensed. The 5-9, 210-pound native of Mobile, Alabama holds the Sun Belt Conference record for career tackles and earned First Team All-Sun Belt on four occasions (2019-22).
Mehry, 25, most recently spent two training camps with the Toronto Argonauts (2021-22). The 6-5, 300-pound native of Leamington, Ontario played 31 games over four seasons at the University of Toronto (2018-22). He was twice named UofT's lineman of the year and caught a three-yard touchdown pass in 2022.
