
Tides fall to Knights after blowing 3-0 lead

The Charlotte Knights rallied from a 3-0 defecit, knocking off the Tides 9-5 Wednesday afternoon at Harbor Park.
Eric Valent had a three-run double in the third inning that gave Norfolk a 3-0 lead, but the Knights rallied for three runs of their own in the top of the fourth. The Tides then took a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on RBI base hits by Rodney Nye and Benji Gil.
Charlotte rallied with two runs in the top of the fifth to knot the score at 5-5, and the game stayed that way until the Knights rallied for four runs off of Tides reliever Tim LaVigne (1-3).
Nye, Chris Basak, and Craig Brazell each had multiple hits for the Tides (38-29), who lost for just the second time in their last 11 games.
Norfolk welcomes the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons to Harbor Park on Thursday night for the first game of a four game set. First pitch is slated for 7:15 pm.
