MEMPHIS, Tn - The Norfolk Tides (2-4) fell to the Memphis Redbird (6-0), 6-2, on Thursday night at AutoZone Park. The Redbirds are now off to their best start in franchise history.

Both of the Tides' runs came in the sixth inning. Creed Willems hit a sac fly to break up the shutout, while Jhonkensy Noel ripped an RBI double later in the inning.

The game was delayed for slightly over an hour in the middle of the seventh inning due to rain. But Memphis would hang on before and after the rain, handing the Tides their fourth straight loss. Johnathan Rodríguez was the lone Tide with multiple hits, knocking two.
