Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has acquired import receiver Thyron Anderson and non-import receiver Jason French from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for import defensive back Tad Kornegay.
Anderson, a 6-4, 205-pound native of Jonesboro, Georgia has recorded 174 receptions for 2,434 yards and nine touchdowns in 51 games over four seasons (2003-06) with the Montreal Alouettes. The Alouettes dealt Anderson, a former 1,000-yard receiver, to the Roughriders in February.
French, a 6-1, 200-pound native of Montreal has played seven seasons, all with Saskatchewan. In 103 career games, the Murray State product has racked up 197 receptions for 2,605 yards and 10 touchdowns. French was drafted by the Roughriders in the second round (ninth overall) of the 2001 CFL Canadian Draft.
