Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has extended the contracts of import defensive tackle Darrell Adams and import linebacker Otis Floyd.

"Darrell and Otis are key players in the middle of our defence and provide valuable experience at their positions," said General Manager Bob O'Billovich. "Otis made an immediate impact last season and brought leadership both on and off the field, while Darrell has the potential to become one of the better defensive tackles in the league because of his size, quickness and ability to rush the passer."

Adams, a 6-5, 282-pound native of Bayshore, New York, racked up 17 defensive tackles, two quarterback sacks and three tackles for losses in nine regular season games last season.

In 27 career games - all with Hamilton - the Villanova product has made 60 defensive tackles, 11 quarterback sacks and eight tackles for losses.

Adams originally signed with the Ticats on September 25, 2007.

Floyd, a 6-2, 238-pound native of Detroit, Michigan, recorded 67 tackles, five quarterback sacks, three tackles for losses, two forced fumbles and one interception in his first season as a Ticat in 2009.

Last season, Floyd was named the CFL's Defensive Player of the Week once and the Defensive Player of the Month in September.

In 146 career CFL games, Floyd has accumulated 453 defensive tackles, 35 sacks and two interceptions.

He has been named a West Division All-Star three times and a CFL All-Star in 2006.

He signed with the Ticats on January 20, 2009.
