Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that they have signed all-star import offensive tackle Jerome Davis and import wide receiver Jo Jo Walker.
"Both Jo Jo and Jerome are capable of making significant contributions to our team," said general manager Marcel Desjardins. "Both players have great versatility and can play multiple positions. Jerome is coming off an all-star season at right tackle and will improve our offensive line while Jo Jo brings great speed and quickness as a receiver and on special teams."
Davis, a 6-5, 300-pound graduate of the University of Minnesota, played the last two seasons with the Toronto Argonauts and was selected as a CFL East Division All-Star following the 2006 season. In his two seasons with the Argos, Davis played in a total of 30 regular season games and two post-season contests at right tackle. Davis' professional football resume also includes time with the NFL's San Francisco 49ers (2001, 2003-04), Denver Broncos (2000) and Detroit Lions (1997-98). He was the first overall selection in the 2002 NFL Europe draft where he earned All-NFL Europe honours. Davis also had a brief stint with the Calgary Stampeders (2000).
Walker, a 5-9, 170-pound native of Carrollton, Texas played four seasons (2002-05) with the University of Maryland Terrapins. During his collegiate career, he played in 44 games contributing on both offence and special teams recording 76 receptions for 998 yards, 25 carries for 129 yards, 49 kickoff returns for 1,081 yards and 35 punt returns for 261 yards. In his senior year, Walker finished third on the Terrapins with 35 receptions for 480 yards and three touchdowns while also leading the team with 29 kickoff returns for 674 yards and 25 punt returns for 141 yards.
