
Thunderbirds Sign D Keoni Texeira and D Alex Breton to PTOs

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Thunderbirds announced on Friday that they have signed D Keoni Texeira and D Alex Breton to PTOs.
In his first professional season, the 21-year-old Texeira has recorded five goals and 30 assists in 56 games with the ECHL's Wichita Thunder. He played his major junioar hockey with the WHL's Portland Winterhawks, where he posted 143 points (39g, 104a) in 344 career Western league games. A native of Fontana, Calif., Texeira stands 6-feet tall and weighs 209 pounds.
Also a first-year pro, Breton has enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign on the Allen Americans blue line, posting 14 goals and 25 assists in 53 games. Before turning pro, Breton captained the QMJHL's Gatineau Olympiques in 2017-18, putting up 10 goals and 30 assists in 59 games, to go along with a +23 rating. The 6-feet tall, 192-pound Breton is a native of Sainte-Marie, QC.
In a separate transaction, the Thunderbirds have loaned forward Patrick Bajkov to the ECHL's Florida Everblades.
The Thunderbirds return to the MassMutual Center on Friday, March 1 for Boomer Bobblehead night presented by Stop & Shop, as the T-Birds and Wolf Pack square off once again for a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. On Saturday, March 2, New England Patriots Super Bowl champion Trey Flowers will be on hand for a meet-and-greet beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the MassMutual Center concourse.
