Carolina Thunderbirds News Release
Winston-Salem, NC - The Carolina Thunderbirds have made numerous roster moves ahead of their Saturday night game against the Danbury Hat Tricks.
First, the team has signed General Manager Kelly Curl as an emergency backup goaltender for tonight's game. The signing comes as a result of goaltender Nick Modica's lower body injury midway through Friday night's game against Danbury. Curl dressed for 68 games over three seasons with the Thunderbirds dating back to the team's inaugural season. Now in his second season as general manager, Curl will be dressing for the first time since March 8th, 2020.
The Thunderbirds have also traded forward Chris Corgan to the Delaware Thunder for future considerations. Bryan Moore returns from his SPHL loan for tonight's game. Moore has a goal and five assists through three games in a Thunderbirds uniform. This will be his first game in Carolina since November 6th against Watertown.
As a result of the transactions, some jersey numbers have been switched around. Bryan Moore will wear #16, Scotty Donahue switches to #7, and Curl will don his old #1.
Puck drop between Carolina and the Danbury Hat Tricks is set for 6:05pm on Saturday night.
