Thunderbirds Announce Junior Ambassador Program

New Mexico Thunderbirds News Release

Rio Rancho, NM - The New Mexico Thunderbirds have announced that they have created a program called the T-Birds Ambassadors, to give a select number of local school-age fans the opportunity to help the T-Birds raise awareness and support within the Rio Rancho community for T-Birds Basketball.

"Since moving to the Santa Ana Star Center, we have learned that there are still so many residents who are unaware of the fact that they have a pro basketball team housed right in their home town. The Rio Rancho community has grown and changed rapidly over the past several years, so we are trying to reach out to all of our new residents with a campaign that we hope will engage them in supporting the first pro basketball team in the City. We need the support and enthusiasm of the young families in Rio Rancho to grow and prosper here, and we think that by having some of our best young fans help us spread the message about how fun and exciting our games are, we can grow that home town base," said Jackie Bregman, Team Owner. "Many of our local children have had the chance to see our team play at the Star Center in the past few months as part of the Rio Rancho Parks and Recreation and the YMCA Jr. Thunderbirds programs, but there are so many who have not yet been able to enjoy watching our team play. We hope that, with the help of the Ambassadors, more people will gain an awareness of our team and our daily involvement in the community, on and off the court. We want to continue to be a big part of maintaining a great quality of life and a family-friendly arena atmosphere for Rio Rancho."

T-Birds Ambassadors will be able to help the team by handing out pocket schedules and ticket offers to their friends and neighbors. In exchange for their help, all T-Birds Ambassadors will be given a free season ticket and a Thunderbirds t-shirt. For more information on how to get involved with the program, interested parents should call the Thunderbirds office at 505-265-3865.

Thunderbirds' season tickets are currently on sale, with full and partial season packages available. Single game tickets are also now available online at www.nmtbirds.com or by calling 505-265-3865.
