New Mexico Thunderbirds News Release
Rio Rancho, NM - The New Mexico Thunderbirds have announced they have signed forward Jamine Peterson (6-6, 230, Providence) and waived center Mike Davis.
Peterson was an All-Big East honorable mention last season when he averaged 19.6 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. He finished fourth in the Big East in scoring and second in the league in rebounding. Peterson was one of just two players (Herb Pope, Seton Hall) to average a double-double last season in the Big East.
Prior to joining the Thunderbirds, Peterson had been playing for Kolossos Rodou in Greece. In four games he averaged 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Peterson will be active tonight for the Thunderbirds final game of the month, "Hoopin' and Hollerin' New Years Eve", featuring a special performance by actor and comedian, Steven Michael Quezada.
Thunderbirds' season tickets are currently on sale, with full and partial season packages available. Single game tickets are also now available online at www.nmtbirds.com or by calling 505-265-3865. The Thunderbirds also offer family four packs: 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 nachos, and 4 drinks for $44.
