LAST WEEK'S GAMES -
Friday, November 1st
Brampton at Wichita, 3-2 L
-Wichita fell behind early, giving up three goals in the first period. Jared Walker scored his first of the season in the second to cut the lead to one, but it was not enough as former Thunder netminder Grant Rollheiser shut the door down the stretch.
Saturday, November 2nd
Wichita at St. Charles, 2-1 L (OT)
-Matt Robinson scored a power play goal in the second period to give Wichita a 1-0 lead. The Chill fought back four minutes later to tie the game at one. -Both power play units made quick work early as Garett Bembridge scored 14 seconds into Denver's first man advantage and just 32 seconds into the game to give the Cutthroats a 1-0 lead. RG Flath tied it later in the opening period 15 seconds into Wichita's first power play. After Matt Robinson scored to give Wichita a 2-1 advantage, the Cutthroats scored twice in less than two minutes in the final 20 minutes to give Denver a 3-2 victory.

HOT HAND - Matt Robinson continues to find the back of the net and has been red hot as of late. The South Surrey, BC native has scored five goals in his last six games and recorded his 90th in a Thunder uniform last night against Denver. With 10 more goals, he will become just the fifth player in team history to record 100 goals in a Thunder uniform and only needs five more to move into fifth place past Mark Karpen.
BACK IN TOWN - Late on Friday afternoon, Wichita signed forward Thomas Beaureguard to a contract and was inserted into the line-up. Beaureguard was an important part of Wichita's run through the playoffs in 2011-12 when the Thunder made the CHL Finals for the first time in 14 seasons. He recorded 59 points (22g, 37a) in 60 games and added 20 points during the post-season that year.
REGAINING HOME-ICE - Historically, Wichita has been one of the best teams in the league at home. INTRUST Bank Arena has not been kind to the Thunder yet this season, still looking for its first win (0-3-1). Over the last two seasons, Wichita has won 49 games on home-ice.
CLOSE CALL- Wichita has been in every game this season and has only lost once by two or more goals. In fact, the only other team in the league that has played in as many one-goal games as Wichita is Allen, which is seven (6-0-1). The Thunder is 1-3-3 in games decided by a goal.
ANCHOR - Mike Wilson added three points over the weekend and remains third in the defensemen scoring race with seven points. With the absence of Andrew Martens and Jesse Dudas, the North Vancouver, BC native has logged a ton of extra minutes and excelled in that position.
225 - Travis Wight is approaching Jason Duda's franchise record for most consecutive games played at 225 (March 3rd, 2000-November 18th, 2003). Wight, who claimed the CHL Man of the Year last season, is currently at 206.
THUNDERBOLTS... Jon Booras, who had his six-game point-streak snapped Sunday, is tied for 10th in points and second in assists (9)...Jared Walker had his four-game point-streak snapped Sunday as well, recording five points in that span (1g, 4a)...Nick McParland is tied for eighth in points for a rookie (4)...Wichita is third on the power play on the road (25%)...Tied after one, Wichita is 1-2-1...Tied after two...Wichita is 0-2-1...Trailing after two, Wichita is 1-1-1...Wichita is 0-3-2 when out-shooting the opponent...
Wichita has a few days off before getting back to action on Wednesday night with its first trip to the BOK Center to take on the Tulsa Oilers at 7:05 p.m. The Thunder's next home game is Saturday, November 9th against the Missouri Mavericks.
Individual game tickets are on sale now. Season tickets and mini plans are still available. Don't delay, contact the Wichita Thunder Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at (316) 264-4625. Stay up-to-date on all the news this season by visiting www.wichitathunder.com .
