2009-10 THUNDER OVERALL RECORD: 33-29-10, 76 points FIRST ROUND: Defeated Alaska, 3-1 (best-of-five) SECOND ROUND: Defeated Bakersfield, 4-1 (best-of-seven) NATIONAL CONFERENCE FINALS: Lost to Idaho, 4-2 (best-of-seven)
THIS WEEK'S OPPONENT: (all times PT) vs. Ontario Reign Friday and Saturday: Oct. 15-16 (7:30 p.m.) Radio: 1280 AM KWSX/ StocktonThunder.com The Stockton Thunder opens its sixth season in the Central Valley at home for the second time in team history, starting with back- to-back games against the Ontario Reign at Stockton Arena on Friday and Saturday. The Thunder went 7-3-0 last season against the Reign and in the last meeting, the Thunder defeated Ontario, 3-2 at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Feb. 13, 2010. Through the first 20 regular season games in the all-time series, the Thunder is 11-8-1 against Ontario. Stockton is 3-2-0 in lifetime home openers.
1280 AM KWSX is the Thunder's flagship radio station on the road this year and all Thunder games can be heard live on the Internet (free-of-charge) and are available for viewing at a $8 "pay-per-view" charge at http://www.stocktonthunder.com/, courtesy of AmericaOne. Radio broadcaster Mike Benton provides play-by-play commentary with the "Thunder Forecast" pre-game show starting 15 minutes before each broadcast. TEAM NOTES - Anthony Aiello led ECHL defensemen and was tied for second in ECHL preseason scoring with 5 assists in 3 games - Chris D'Alvise led the Thunder with 34 goals (s econd among ECHL rookies) last season - Aaron Clarke boasted career highs in goals (25) and points (57) in 59 games with Wheeling last season - Stockton toppled the 30-win plateau for the third time in five seasons - Stockton was third in the ECHL with an average of 6,006 fans in attendance (35 home games) in 2009-10 - Stockton's power-play on the road was the leader in the ECHL at 24.5 percent (38-for-155)
