Wichita Thunder News Release

ODESSA, TX- The Wichita Thunder lost 6-2 to the Odessa Jackalopes at the Ector County Coliseum on Thursday night.

Leading 3-2, Odessa scored three times in the third period to take control of the game. Mike Ramsay scored twice in the period, including a goal 11 seconds into the frame to give Odessa a 4-2 advantage. After Sebastien Thinel scored his second of the night at 12:07, Ramsay found the back of the net again at 13:25 for the game's final goal.

The teams traded goals during a fast-paced second. Lance Galbraith crashed towards the right side of Jackalopes' goaltender Joel Martin and tied the game at 4:00, helped by a rebound created by Chris Moran. The Jackalopes regained the lead at 11:23 when referee Geoff Miller ruled Jeff Pierce's shot had crossed the goal line. Pierce hit the crossbar where the puck bounced straight down and then out of the crease. 43 seconds later, Sebastien Thinel ripped a shot over Peter Delmas's right shoulder to convert a two-on-one opporunity to make it 3-1.

Troy Schwab scored on the power play at 16:17 in the second to bring Wichita back within one. Schwab took a soft shot from the right circle that trickled under Martin's pads thanks to heavy traffic in front of the net led by Ryan Hand.

The Jackalopes took a 1-0 lead 2:19 into the game when Darryl Bootland knocked in a rebound from David Brown.

Delmas was 22 of 28 in the loss. Martin saved 30 of 32 in the win. Wichita was 1 for 5 on the power play while going 2 for 2 on the penalty kill. The six goals allowed by the Thunder were a season-high.
