MOLINE, Ill. - Brandon Marino and Shane Lovdahl each had a goal and an assist to lead the Quad City Mallards to a 4-1 victory over the Bloomington PrairieThunder on Saturday night at the i wireless Center in International Hockey League action.
The loss dropped the PrairieThunder's record to 31-32-4-6 (72 points). Bloomington's magic number remained at six over Flint to secure the fourth and final spot in the postseason playoffs.
The PrairieThunder, which ended the season with a 0-8-0-1 record on the Mallards' home ice, returns to action Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Flint on the final weekend of the season.
Bloomington's only goal came from Zac Pearson with 1:19 remaining in the second period off assists by Robin Gomez and Preston Briggs. Andrew Martin was the losing goalie for Bloomington.
