Thunder right fielder Zach Mandelblatt helps Thunder past Colts

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts would drop their third out of four to the McAllen Thunder Saturday night at Foster Field 5-4. Daryl Jones would see his 19 home game hitting streakcome to an end. The Colts have two days off before hitting the road for a 12 game roadtrip.

Chandler Barnard (7-2, 3.59) would get the no decision on the contest. Barnard would go 7 innings allowing three runs off of nine hits, walking one and striking out six. Thunder righty Garrett Granitz (1-0, 0.00) would get his first win as a member of the Thunder. Granitz pitched 1.1 innings allowing no runs, no hits, while striking out three.

Ronnie Gaines would get things rolling for the Colts, leading off the bottom of the first with his 15th homer of the season. Clay Calfee (10) would then tie the game at 2-2 with a solo shot of his own in the second inning. The game would remain tied all the way until the bottom of the sixth inning when Landon Camp scored of a double play ball hit by right fielder Vic Ferrante. Colts would once again see a ninth inning lead slip away as Thunder right fielder Zach Mandelblatt would send a two run shot over the right field fence to put McAllen ahead for good.

The Colts will take two days off before hitting the road to the valley. San Angelo will play 15 games in 12 days, which include three double-headers.
