With just 13 games remaining in the 25th Season of Thunder baseball, presented by NJM Insurance; the team and the Eastern League announced the first look at the 2019 schedule this afternoon.
The Thunder will begin the 2019 campaign with a six-game road trip to Erie, PA and Akron, OH. Opening Night, presented by ARM & HAMMER will take place on Friday, April 12 at 7:00pm when the Thunder host the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox).
The 2019 home schedule will feature 21 games with rivals of the New York Yankees playing at ARM & HAMMER Park. The Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies) will travel to ARM & HAMMER Park for seven total games, June 24-26, and August 30-September 2. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (New York Mets) will make their lone trip to Trenton, May 16-19. The rival Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) will take on the Thunder at ARM & HAMMER Park three times; April 12-14, May 10-12, and May 20-23.
The team will play 11 home games in April, 16 in May, 16 in June, 13 in July, 12 in August and two in September. The Thunder play 70 home games against all 11 Eastern League opponents. All affiliates between Eastern League teams and MLB Parent clubs will remain the same as 2018.
Mid-week day games will continue at ARM & HAMMER Park in 2018 with 10:30am "Education Day" games slated for Wednesday April 17, Wednesday May 1, and Thursday May 23. Special "Camp Day" games are scheduled for Wednesday July 24 and Wednesday August 7. The Thunder will also host a "Business Person Special" on Wednesday, August 21.
The schedule for fireworks dates and promotions for 2019 will be released at a later date.
