
Thunder Late Rally Falls Short

Edinburg, Texas - The McAllen Thunder (25-44) scored on a two-run double by Antoin Gray in the eighth inning, and a passed ball and a sacrifice fly by Gio Rosa in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the McAllen Thunder could not finish the comeback as they fell 5-4 to the Rio Grande Valley White Wings.
Erinzon Bautista (2-0) kept the McAllen Thunder off the board during his seven innings of work and the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings (39-29) beat the McAllen Thunder, 5-4.
Ruddy Yan racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Rio Grande Valley Whitewings. He singled in the first, fifth, and eighth innings.
Brian Murphy (4-5) was the losing pitcher lasting eight innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
The Thunder and White Wings will play the sixth of their eight game series on Monday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
