
Thunder Announces Preseason Schedule

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder announced its 2009-10 preseason schedule on Wednesday.
The Thunder, one of the last three remaining members of the original six-team Central Hockey League, will play the Missouri Mavericks, one of two expansion teams for 2009-10, in two exhibition games. The contests are scheduled for Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th at the Wichita Ice Center located at 505 W. Maple, across the street from Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. The games precede the opening of the regular season by one week.
Both games begin at 7:05 p.m. with general admission seating costing just $10.00. Tickets are expected to go on sale in late September. More information can be found at the Thunder's official website www.wichitathunder.com
Wichita opens its 18th season on Friday, October 16th on the road, with their final home opener at the Kansas Coliseum scheduled for the following night. In mid-January, the Thunder will begin playing their home games at Wichita's new downtown arena. Season tickets and ticket packages are on sale now.
